We want Daktronics to be the obvious choice for our end customers’ purchases, both for ongoing services and adjacent systems, and for replacement of their AV system as it approaches its end-of-life. We see our customer base as a valuable asset. We do things our competitors might not do to retain a Customer relationship and reinforce their choice to make their next AV system purchase from Daktronics.  

Inside Sales is an integral part of the sales team to drive sales, stay in contact with customers, and minimize selling expenses. Inside Sales serves the On-Premise, High School Park and Recreation, Out of Home, and Live Event Markets across various regions as workload dictates.  

This is an excellent entry level selling position, where you have the opportunity to develop a sales career. Through this experience you will develop your prospecting skills through perseverance, creativity, and resilience. 

What will the work look like for me?

As an inside sales representative you will:   

  • Use formal campaigns and informal communication to generate leads and opportunities from new and existing customers. 
  • Works diligently in reaching out to potential Product Replacement Growth Opportunities (PRGO) customers to determine viability of replacement project and assisting with handoffs when appropriate to maximize leads and opportunities.
  • Understand trends in each market. Sustain and grow technical knowledge to be subject matter experts on our products and competitors in the marketplace. Primary products include Galaxy, Fuelight, Time and Temperature, Digital Billboard, and Digital Signage product line, Indoor and Outdoor Standard Scoreboard, Decorative Accent, Timing Display, Campus Communication Solution product lines, basic installation understanding, communication options, and software/control supporting these products. 
  • Understand our customers and their business. Create and nurture customer relationships to create trust and secure profitable orders. 
  • Understand end user applications, venue, physical spaces, audio visual systems, and type of use. Demonstrate expertise in bringing solutions to customers such that the customer chooses Daktronics. 
  • Identify and teach customers about Daktronics solutions guiding customers through the solution evaluation adjusting and adapting solutions. 
  • Maximize customer interactions through utilizing the 5 selling skills of efficiently building relationships, developing commitment objectives, asking the best questions, presenting, and gaining commitment to secure orders. 
  • Develop contact and follow up strategies on leads and opportunities to maximize efficiency and conversion to orders.

Additionally, you will: 

  • Daily data enter and utilize Salesforce (CRM) as a sales tool.  
  • Travel up to three times per year to attend regional meetings, trade shows, and product demonstrations. Trips range from same day up to 3 days. 
  • Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures. 
  • Work for continuous internal process improvement at Daktronics. 
  • Work effectively as a team member with little supervision; communicate effectively with team members including sales, customer service, project coordinators, and project managers. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Your performance metrics will include items such as prospecting activities, orders, profitability, order balance, assists, and new business.  

Where is this opportunity located? 

Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates.  

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $23.00 to $30.00 per hour based on the location of US Remote. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for Insides Sales, we require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, sports management, or similar. Will consider May 2026 graduates. 
  • Six months direct customer, sales, or Daktronics experience required.  Examples of direct customer experience includes external interactions with customers in areas such as sales, service, or project fulfillment.
  • Reasonable knowledge of Daktronics product line or demonstrated ability to learn technical product quickly.  
  • Communication skills including good verbal and written skills, ability to quickly establish relationships over the phone, ability to adapt to information being learned during conversation and ability to present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.  
  • Resilient meaning maintaining a positive attitude and forward-thinking approach despite setbacks, taking constructive action to navigate obstacles, and bouncing back from setbacks. 
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and a team player. Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement. 
  •  Computer software skills to operate Microsoft Office: Word and Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, and accessing web site and sales literature. 
  • May be required to work additional hours due to business needs. 
  • If working from home, ability to work from a confidential home office space without disruption. 
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.   
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Driving Eligibility Requirements. Motor vehicle records will be checked. Ability to travel throughout North America (Canada/United States). Typically, 0-5 trips per year with the range being 0-15 days.
