What will the work look like for me?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IT Auditor with a strong background in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating all IT in-scope servers and applications for IT general controls (ITGCs), IT Application Controls (ITACs), IT Integration Controls (ITICs), Information Provided by Entity (IPE); Critical Audit Reporting (internally called CAR) processes, performing risk assessments, and ensuring the organization’s IT systems and processes comply with SOX and other regulations. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and control owners. 

 

The IT Auditor will collaborate with teams across Daktronics to lead and execute IT-focused audit programs including the design, documentation, and testing programs for existing and new system implementations. In conjunction with the Accounting internal controls team, the IT Auditor will be responsible for coordinating and providing information to external auditors, management, and the board of directors.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 As our IT Auditor, your work will focus on the following areas:   

  • Plan, conduct, and report results of IT SOX testing. 
  • Ensure SOX requirements are not impacted or update controls as new software is released. 
  • Execute SOX and Key Reports test procedures in alignment with departmental and external audit standards. 
  • Lead and document walkthroughs of IT SOX controls. 
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of IT controls relative to control objectives. 
  • Identify control deficiencies and recommend remediation strategies. 
  • Maintain consistency and quality in SOX compliance documentation across the organization. 
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and IT teams to leverage IT controls across the business processes, so that business control testing can be minimized, and ensure timely resolution of audit findings. 
  • Prepare narratives and flowcharts documenting internal control processes. 
  • Stay current with changes to SOX regulations; ITGCs, ITACs, IPE, and overall IT audit standards. 

Where is this opportunity located? 

Position has opportunity to work from a US Based home office or Daktronics Location. This position is open to U.S. based candidates.  

 

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 annually based on the candidate’s location. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for the IT Auditor, we require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.  
  • Preference given to applicants with one or more of the following certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accounting), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). 
  • Five-seven (5-7) years of experience in IT audit or SOX compliance. 
  • Five (5)+ years of IT audit experience in large public companies or accounting firms. 
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS). 
  • Strong understanding of ITGCs, ITAC’s, IPE, and SOX requirements. 
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in specific functional or technical areas (e.g., COSO, ISACA, SOX, Laws, and regulations). 
  • Expertise in SOX compliance, IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, NIST), and internal controls. 
  • Familiarity with technologies like ERP, EPM, Salesforce, Microsoft Azure, Linux/Unix, DevOps tools, Databases, Active Directory, and SQL databases. 
  • Strong project management skills in remote environments with the ability to lead through influence in cross-functional teams. 
  • Effective communicator with a proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, have difficult conversations, willingness to tackle tough questions, and active listening skills.  
  • Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Natural curiosity, especially for business acumen, processes, and technology.  
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Ability to travel periodically to other Daktronics locations. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
