What will the work look like for me?

A hybrid role with the following primary objectives:

  • Sales - Drive revenue growth in the events market by converting product-replacement opportunities with existing customers, securing upgrade wins on competitor installations, and winning Daktronics’ specification on new projects and venue builds to deliver closed sales.
  • Business Development - Focus on accelerating growth in our indoor high-resolution solution business across multiple markets, including Government, Industry, Events, Education and Retail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Events Market Responsibilities - Sales
    • Drive sales revenue in the market across stadiums, arenas, and events-based venues.
    • Maintain relationships with existing customers and support our service team with end of product life discussions.
    • Build relationships with architects, consultants, and venue operators to influence specifications on new stadium and arena projects.
    • Monitor industry news and competitor sites to identify upcoming opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the team to produce technically robust and commercially strong proposals that win business.
    • Represent Daktronics at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance brand visibility across all external
  • Emerging Market Responsibilities – Business Development
    • Gain common understanding of market dynamics, trends, stakeholder perspectives, decision making on purchases and competitive landscapes. Primary areas of focus include:
      • Growing business in the Government, Industry, Events, Education and Retail markets by influencing project positioning for Daktronics.
      • Knowledge development within the Retail (Stores/Brands and Mall Owner/Operator) markets.
    • Build and maintain relationships with architects, consultants, engineers, trade associations and A/V integrators
    • Collaborate with architectural, consulting, and engineering firms to:
      • Educate them on Daktronics solutions.
      • Secure product specifications on upcoming projects.
      • Understand their challenges/opportunities and explore how Daktronics can address them.
    • Engage directly with prospective customers to understand use cases, buying behaviours, and procurement processes.
    • Represent Daktronics at trade shows, AV/tech conferences, and industry events to enhance brand visibility across all external stakeholders.

Ideal Background and Competencies

  • Industry Familiarity: Strong understanding of LED display technology.
  • Prior engagement with architects, consultants, and engineers preferred.
  • Sales Acumen: Ability to communicate a compelling vision, build strong relationships, and position Daktronics for future success.
  • Confidently engage in technical sales conversations — by translating complex product capabilities into clear, value-driven business outcomes for customers, architects, consultants and Integrators.
  • Strong ability to discuss technical topics comfortably with external stakeholders. (e.g., LED display and control system features).
  • Communication & Relationship Building: Personable and outgoing, with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective in working across departments including Sales, Project Management, Product Management, and Marketing.
  • Strategic Thinking: Skilled in identifying high-impact opportunities and developing actionable plans.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, initiating projects, and wearing multiple hats.
  • Proven success in identifying new markets and driving growth.

Where is this opportunity located? 

Position located in London, United Kingdom and has an opportunity to work from a UK based home office within a daily commutable distance from London.

Qualifications

To be considered for Sales & Business Development we require the following:

  • Bachelors degree preferably in business, or a related field.
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially in Office365 tools, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Proven sales and customer relations experience required. Experience in the audio/visual industry preferred.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule:
    • Willing to travel approximately 20% of the time.
    • International travel required, including periodic extended stay trips of up to two weeks when necessary.
    • Willing to communicate with the United States, Shanghai, or Ireland during their business hours at times.
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
