When will I work?
- 4/10s Schedule, Primary Schedule – The primary work hours for this position are 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with overtime required as needed.
Where is this opportunity located?
Position located in Brookings, South Dakota in our Transportation Manufacturing department.
What will the work look like for me?
This position will be in Crating within the Transportation Manufacturing Facility. Crating is responsible for building the wooden crates and frames for displays to ship.
- Learn Daktronics products, systems, and processes and assemble products in a safe accurate and timely manner.
- Follow company guidelines and policies.
- Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
- Ability to receive and apply leadership guidance.
- Work unsupervised safely and effectively.
- Need to be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as individually.
- Must be able to follow work instructions.
- Constructing crates by safely operating power tools and saws. Precise use of tape measures.
- Learn the modular and technical construction of displays, interpret technical drawings, and safely operate hand/air tools.
- Document weights, crated weights, and dimensions of equipment. Label creates with proper required details. List component and unit serial numbers for all pertinent items and displays.
- There are additional steps and requirement for our Large Matrix products like; climbing 10 ft step ladders, working at a height of up to 15 ft, use of power impact guns, working with a LP powered heat shrink tool, utilizing propane tanks, climbing on trailers to strap loads, securing loads with a load binder, and being able to work in awkward positions with repetitive kneeling, standing, and climbing.
- Operating a forklift, overhead and JIB cranes, boom lift, scissor lift, electric pallet jacks, and other equipment as necessary.
- Must be flexible to help in other areas of the factory, including inventory as well as manufacturing if needed.
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.
- Complete other duties assigned to meet customer needs which include the ability to learn and flex into shipping- to help with trailer loaded as needed.
