Our global accounting team serves Daktronics stakeholders – employees, customers, vendors, shareholders, and our communities. Our work is focused on enabling Daktronics success by being trusted advisors, guiding and supporting company compliance and risk management efforts, being operationally excellent, and developing ourselves and our teams. We partner with our internal leaders to prepare and model financial data to provide actionable information for business decision making and profitable growth. Our team is responsible for accurate financial reporting, internal control design, management, and testing, maintaining subsidiary financial information and adapting systems for financial reporting needs.  

 

We are seeking a senior financial analyst to serve as a managerial finance professional collaborating with various teams, providing insight around forecasts, reporting, and analysis of financial data and results. The role includes preparing financial scenarios, KPIs, and models to offer insight for the organization. The successful candidate will join the corporate financial planning and analysis team and will initially assist in supporting our manufacturing division to promote data-driven decision-making and improvements in processes and data accessibility.  

 

What are my responsibilities?  

  • Lead financial analysis and reporting to support effective operations and align with company strategies. 
  • Review and communicate financial forecasts and models, including analysis of strategic initiatives, and maintain related financial data and reporting. Provide regular updates and analysis to the CFO’s office for corporate-wide decision-making. 
  • Review and analyze quarterly and monthly forecasts, actual costs, capital planning, and other KPIs. 
  • Report actionable financial information and educate groups on profitability, costing, and analysis to support data-driven decisions. 
  • Design and deliver capacity performance reporting, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and comparative analysis. 
  • Collaborate with other functions to provide solutions for data requests and identify process improvements for financial planning and reporting systems. 
  • Educate on financial/business acumen, ensure policy adherence, and recommend process improvements. 
  • Support corporate and business unit analysts in generating insights, particularly in manufacturing. Utilize integrated business planning tools to enter data and report financial information. 

Where is this opportunity located? 

Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates.  

 

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $85,000 to $125,000 based on the location of US remote. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for Senior Financial Analyst, we require the following:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, or a related field.
  • Five (5) + years of experience in consulting or manufacturing with responsibilities including financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling. 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, costing operations, financial statements, financial metrics, and data presentation. 
  • Proficiency with numerical data and systems, supported by strong analytical skills. 
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently in environments involving multiple stakeholders. 
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and discipline to ensure quality output and adherence to deadlines. 
  • Experience with change management within a finance setting is preferred. 
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.

Desired traits

  • Proficiency in managerial accounting generating information for informed decision-making. 
  • Ability to distill complex accounting concepts or large datasets into accessible content for general users. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems and/or Microsoft reporting and analysis software. 
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and US GAAP, with a focus on inventory valuation, coupled with strong business acumen and strategic thought. 
  • Skill in identifying, measuring, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data to support management decisions. 
  • Strong self-motivation and capacity to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. 
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and adaptability in managing an evolving workload. 
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, including collaboration and relationship building. 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English. 
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures, while maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn business intelligence tools, such as Reporting Services, Power BI, and Business Planning and Consolidation software; knowledge of SQL is advantageous.
