Daktronics Ireland manufactures and assembles a variety of LED and LCD products in a multitude of different styles, primarily for the transportation and commercial markets.

 

What will the work look like for me?

  • Collaborate with Materials Manager and Schedulers in assigning and prioritizing work orders for the factory floor.
  • Take responsibility for daily and weekly cycle counts.
    • Oversee Kanban replenishment.
    • Attend daily materials meeting.
    • Review error reports.
  • Review quarterly and biannual physical stock counts, as required.
  • Oversee PO receipts, committed parts to BOMs.
  • Lead tier meeting for the department and review standard work.
  • Review and update inventory metrics, as required.
  • Audit Production regularly to verify work is safely being done to work instructions within the planned cycle time.  
  • Identify concerns and develop countermeasures to maintain production schedule.
  • Partner with Production Team Leads and Line Leads to develop performance, training, and flexibility goals.
  • Be actively involved in lean efforts for continuous improvements.
    • Identify wastes and use lean tools to eliminate, simplify, or automate to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve working conditions, or eliminate safety concerns.  
  • Take responsibility for ongoing evaluation of employee performance, motivation, and discipline.
    • Conduct formal performance evaluations timely and objectively.
    • Identify and groom future leaders in manufacturing.
  • Ensure safety by identifying and correcting safety concerns.
    • Assist in developing safe operating procedures for machines and equipment.
    • Take injured employees for treatment and/or appointments, if needed.
  • Foster teamwork through effective communication to staff and other departments.
  • Promote the relationship between quality workmanship, customer service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Hire or assist in hiring.
  • Coordinate training plans for new employees and existing employees to gain thorough knowledge.
  • Train employees on:
    • Work order flow routing and delivery.
    • Quality reporting.
    • Work procedures and test procedures.
    • Equipment.
    • Daktronics policies and procedures.
  • Participate in budgeting and planning.
  • Represent the company and department positively and effectively in all situations.
  • Become a main representative point of contact for department in the absence of the plant manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet Daktronics growth and customer expectations. 

When will I work?

The primary work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm & Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Inventory Supervisor position, we require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, but will consider candidates currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Daktronics products and operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.      
  • Ability to effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team and interact with a variety of personnel in a positive, professional manner. 
  • Be inquisitive, innovative, assertive, self-motivated, and goal oriented.
  • Ability to lead a team, effectively organize work, solve problems, seek improvement, and work under time pressures.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. 
  • Good computer skills with Glovia, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Safety.
  • Physical Requirements include the ability to:    
    • Work in an environment with smells like paint, solvent, solder, and other manufacturing odors.
    • Remain in a stationary position for the full shift.
    • Move materials, including awkward items, weighing up to 25 kilos.    
    • Have a full range of motion (i.e., bending, lifting, reaching, working repetitively with some small parts).
    • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including potentially in awkward positions.
    • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.    
    • Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors.    
    • Read fine print.    
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Desired traits

  • Training and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
