When will I work?

• Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. & Friday 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

Where is this opportunity located?

Position located in Ennistymon Co Clare, Ireland in our International Manufacturing department.

What will the work look like for me?

• Follow work instructions. Record work done. Perform basic math calculations.
• Accurately and consistently complete quality work in a timely manner. Inspect own work. Quickly learn new tasks. Accurately and consistently complete repetitive tasks. To be able to distinguish wire colouring, to have dexterity in using hand and electric tools.
• Work effectively as a team member, work with little supervision, help when and where needed, make suggestions for process and product improvement, communicate effectively with team members. Follow company guidelines.
• Work scheduled hours. Work overtime when necessary.
• Willing to work in any manufacturing department through flexibility.
• Perform other duties as needed to meet customer expectations.
• Assist in evaluating quality issues discovered during production.
• Train employees and develop training aids to improve processes quality and time cycle.
• Be at work on time and maintain good attendance. Be able to work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

To be considered for Metal Shop Operator, we require the following:

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
• Required to work overtime when overtime shifts are scheduled.
• Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and successfully participate as a member of a team.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Health and Safety Statement. Items include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department. You will be provided the PPE for the required areas.
• Physical requirements include the ability to:
  • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
  • Lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs) and/or awkward items.
  • Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.
  • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
  • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.
  • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
  • Identify wire and paint colors.
  • Read fine print.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
