Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a South Dakota home office or Daktronics location. We have a preference for this individual to reside near our corporate headquarters in Brookings, South Dakota. Much of the work for this position can be done from a home office.

 

Candidate must be enrolled as a student and registered in at least 12 credits. Preferred applicant should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

Customer Training:  

  • Conduct training sessions using webinar platforms to educate customers. 
  • Develop innovative solutions to optimize customer system utilization. 
  • Employ effective communication to deliver precise guidance through written and spoken instructions. 
  • Develop and execute software training for internal customers and team members, primarily via phone or web, possibility of onsite training. 
  • Exhibit poise and adaptability in high-pressure situations, remaining open to change. 
  • Represent the company positively and effectively in all situations. 

Schedule Management & Coordination: 

  • Coordinate training activities for all markets at Daktronics.  
  • Develop reports on training activities, performance, and cost using the scheduling software (Quickbase).  
  • Monitor and process webinar registrations, cancellations, and distribute webinar recordings. 
  • Add new orders, extra parts, and new contracts into scheduling software (Quickbase) for tracking. 
  • Manage webinar rooms in Microsoft Bookings system.  
  • Support the coordination and logistical planning of onsite technical training sessions at our Brookings headquarters. 

 Customer Engagement: 

  • Respond to customer questions via email and phone. 
  • Escalate customer requests to appropriate resources if needed.  
  • Communicate with supervisor on interactions with customers as needed. 
  • Potential to conduct software training to both internal and external customers.

  • Process Improvement: continually look for areas to improve our ability to provide our customers with the best possible experience while remaining operationally efficient.  
  • Regularly and reliably work scheduled hours; must work at least three-hour shifts during normal business hours.

  • Other duties as assigned and required to meet customer expectations and much more within the Professional Services groups at Daktronics. 

Pay and perks:  

The typical hiring range for this position is $13.75 to $14.50 per hour based on the location. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation. 

 

Students with GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed.  Additional conditions may apply.

Qualifications

Academic Requirements:

  • The preferred candidate will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in accredited bachelor's degree program in Education, Consumer Affairs, Business, Economics, Accounting, Entrepreneurial Studies, Advertising, Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or related programs. 
  • The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore or junior year of school. 
  • Only strong academic performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. 
  • Must maintain an acceptable GPA. 
  • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.  

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Fluent in English, both written and verbal.  
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and organized.  
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred.  
  • Enthusiasm for learning and working on new projects and flexibility to ever-changing priorities and responsibilities.  
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.  
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
