We are currently seeking a Costing Analyst to join our dynamic, collaborative, and innovative team. A Costing Analyst is part of our Business Analytics roles at Daktronics and typically is a power user of various systems, data, or processes and can provide aid in the areas of process improvements, pricing, testing, training, analysis, or support. 

 

What would I do? 

A Costing Analyst in our team typically focuses on a variety of responsibilities in support of our sales, service, engineering, and management teams including, but not limited to:                                                  

  • Analyze internal pricing models that consider product usage, and projections, costs such as labor, materials, distribution, and contracts to evaluate prices against actual expenses and budgets on an as needed, quarterly or annual basis.  
  • Apply a breadth of tools, data sources, and analytical techniques to quickly gather and convert data into a usable database and effectively organize and summarize to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and proactively present new insights in concise and effective manner and communicate analytical results to management.  
  • Develop and maintain product costing and pricing tools to be utilized by various user groups.  
  • Work closely with product and sales management on first time and ongoing product pricing strategies by providing analysis that is consistent and reliable.  
  • Deeply understand the capabilities, processes, needs, user feedback, and be able to work with various teams to capture, analyze, and document a prioritized set of user-centric functional and technical requirements. 
  • Develop an ongoing and sustainable relationship with business users.  
  • Assist with testing and documentation of quote and order systems and tools.  
  • Identify strategies that will make our processes more effective. Find similarities across the company that can be standardized and automated. Drive process improvements in all our systems and processes.  
  • Complete product launch activities for product and service releases.  
  • Provide daily support and consultation as needed for internal customers. 
  • Actively engage in tier meetings and work closely with other BA roles to assist with leveraging knowledge. 

Where will I be working?   

Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, technology, or a related field is required. You will also need demonstrated experience in the areas listed below: 

  • Innovating through tools and technology. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset when dealing with ambiguity.  
  • Highly detail oriented, well organized, energetic, motivated, service-oriented, and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.  Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively on a team.  
  • Continued willingness and desire to learn and find solutions to challenges.  
  • Flexible and adapt to dynamic environments with evolving workload and new challenges.  
  • Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.  
  • Daktronics product knowledge and experience in engineering process, project manager, and information technologies are a strong plus. 
  • Demonstrated process flow understanding and experience in root cause analysis, along with lean problem-solving tools. 
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software and techniques quickly, be flexible and adapt to dynamic environments and evolving workload. 
  • Effective communication and documentation skills while working with various teams. Fluent in English, written and verbal.
