The manufacturing facility located in Sioux Falls, SD will support the billboard and fuel light niches within the Commercial market. The factory will be responsible for the timely and quality production of digital billboards, fuel light displays, and additional products as business needs demand.


Production employees enjoy a four-day work week, Monday through Thursday, with overtime being required and scheduled when workload requires. This is accomplished by working extended hours Monday – Thursdays or on Fridays when workload requires. The hours are 4:30pm to 3:00am and earn a shift differential.

For training purposes, will need to be able to work Monday through Thursday from 12:00pm-10:30pm.  

  • Machine operator with daily-weekly operator maintenance responsibilities of automated equipment.
  • Assemble electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools and calibrated equipment.
  • Be knowledgeable about ESD procedures and IPC specifications.
  • Be familiar with surface mount and through hole assembly processes.
  • Complete all training necessary to become fully qualified.
  • Ensure that all duties are performed in a safe manner. Wear proper personal protective equipment to conform to the established safety standards of the tasks as prescribed or directed.
  • Communicate hazards associated with the equipment to those working near the machines that may be filling a support role and ensure they too wear proper personal protective equipment.
  • Strive to achieve and improve established throughput, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Work with supervisors and engineers to improve procedures, processes, and training methods.
  • Follow leader direction to perform to high standard within all Daktronics performance dimensions.
  • Remain flexible to work outside the department if necessary.
  • Must be able to handle and manipulate small parts.
  • Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Safety Department.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to:
    • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
    • Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.
    • Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.
    • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
    • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.
    • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
    • Identify wire and paint colors.
    • Read fine print.
  • Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
