What You’ll Do 

You keep Daktronics factories running smoothly and without incident. You do this by:  

  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on automated equipment.  
  • Making emergency repairs to electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.  
  • Training peers to perform maintenance tasks.  
  • Communicating effectively over the phone to repair equipment.  
  • Performing other duties as assigned and as needed to meet customer expectations.  

Because you bring a unique perspective to maintenance, you’ll impact operational excellence by:  

  • Evaluating and improving preventative maintenance programs.  
  • Operating automated equipment.  
  • Inputting details into work orders on work performed and materials consumed.   
  • Contributing to discussions regarding new equipment purchases, processes, and materials.  
  • Maintaining records of maintenance procedures and parts.

You’ll have a consistent schedule each week:   

  • Monday – Thursday, 4:30pm – 3:00am  
  • There may be occasional overtime opportunities, paid at time and a half.

Qualifications

  • Completion of or current enrollment in a two-year Associate degree in Electrical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Diesel Mechanics, or a similar technical field.   
  • Strong computer and communication skills.    
  • Ability to follow work plans and prioritize work orders, escalating issues when needed.    
  • Work effectively as a team member with little supervision.   
  • Physical requirements:    
    • Ability to distinguish and identify wire colors.    
    • Be able to lift and carry heavy (up to 75 lbs.) and/or awkward items.    
    • Able to work with your hands; stand and/or sit for the full shift.    
    • Full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting).    
    • Work with your hands. Maintain steady hand-eye coordination.    
    • Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.    
    • Ability to read fine print with or without corrective lenses.    
    • Be able to work with various manufacturing odors.  
  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department. Pulmonary function tests for use of respirator may be required.    
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.  
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.  Motor vehicle records will be checked.
