Where will you work?    

  • You will cover a geography that includes Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Preferred location is the Greater Toronto, Ontario Metro area.  

What are your responsibilities?     

  • You will develop and successfully execute a plan for selling products and services at an acceptable order volume and profit margin in your designated geography.    
    • You will sell into the On-Premise, High School Park & Recreation, and Out-of-Home markets which includes calling on direct end-customer, resellers, dealers, audio visual companies, K-12 schools, Junior colleges, architects, consultants, contractors, and sign designers.    
    • You will be responsible for promoting Daktronics products/services, during in-person meetings, video conferencing, and product demonstrations.     
    • You will generate orders through financing options such as Daktronics Sports Marketing and leasing partners.    
    • You will create business through consultative selling by demonstrating the need for Daktronics product offerings.     
    • You will assist having Daktronics products qualified or specified in proposal requests, purchasing cooperatives, or consultant recommendations. You will leverage orders through purchasing co-ops, as applicable.    
    • You will grow the active sales opportunities through referrals, lead generation and qualification, product replacement opportunities, proactive prospecting, and sustainable relationships. You will promptly follow up on marketing campaign or trade show leads. These activities will be documented in a timely manner using Salesforce CRM.    
  • You will be the Daktronics expert consultant with an in depth understanding of Daktronics products capabilities, features, functions, and operation to best meet the customer’s vision. Product knowledge will include video systems, standard scoring equipment, audio equipment, electronic message centers, LCD displays, direct view LED displays, and frontend control equipment for all product offerings. To become the Daktronics expert, you will actively participate in all product and sales trainings.    
  • You will work effectively as a team member. Work with limited daily supervision.    
  • Become knowledgeable and follow Daktronics’ policies, processes, and procedures.    

What will be your compensation package? 

 

The typical hiring range for this position is $75,000- $95,000 based on the location of greater Toronto, Ontario metro area.  Daktronics benefits include health, dental and life insurance, vacation,sick pay and public holidays, fitness reimbursement, employee assistance program, and more. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, economics, marketing, technical area, or similar.     
  • Prefer Daktronics or business to business sales related experience.    
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical product quickly.    
  • Communication skills including good verbal and written skills, ability to develop and present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services and negotiate contracts favorable to Daktronics. Fluent in English, written and verbal. Knowledge of French helpful. 
  • Negotiation Skills:    
    • Experience selling product values and features. Must demonstrate ability to successfully negotiate price without being the lowest price supplier.    
    • Understand basics of proposal and sales agreement language to negotiate/finalize agreements in conjunction with Daktronics Legal Group.    
  • Motivated and a team player. Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement. Goal oriented with proven leadership capability.    
  • Successful candidate must either reside or be willing to reside within the Greater Toronto, Ontario metro area.  
  • Work schedule may include evenings and weekends for presentations, trade shows, and meetings.     
  • Ability to travel by air and ground throughout North America (Canada and United States). Valid driver's license; motor vehicle records will be checked. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Anticipating that overnight travel is about 11% of the time with days per trip in the range of 2-4 including about 2 weekends per year. Most travel will be day trips. Travel outside of Ontario will be occasional. 
  • Ability to work from a home office when not travelling.    
  • Physically able to connect demo trailer to vehicle.    
  • Computer skills to best utilize Salesforce, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and internal electronic systems.    
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.     
  • Daktronics does not sponsor, renew, or extend immigration visas for this position.  
    • Must be legally able to work in Canada at time of hire. 
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate visas to travel throughout North America (Canada/United States).
