The approximate shift for this onsite position in Redwood Falls, MN is 6:00am-6:00pm, Thursday-Saturday.

 

Areas of Focus:  

  • People Development:   
    • Champion a positive culture in the organization.  
    • Learn Precision Leadership and utilize it daily to reinforce behaviors of each direct report.  
    • Develop team to meet high performance expectations through coaching per Daktronics’ 7 Dimension standards.   
    • Employee training:   
      • Develop and execute a plan to have all direct reports grow their skills following established training standard processes.   
      • Assist with developing new training when needed and/or requested by factory management.  
    • Own and implement skills matrix and phase training for the department.   
    • Perform department 1:1’s, write and present performance evaluations and compensation presentations.  
    • Ongoing development of future leaders (Line Lead, Team Lead, Technicians, etc.).  
    • Participate as part of a collaborative interview team and select individuals who demonstrate the potential to meet and exceed our High Standard of Performance.  
    • Collaborate with Plant Manager, Production Manager, and HR on staffing levels to meet current and anticipated demand while considering improvements that lead to further productivity gains.  
  • Improving the Business:   
    • Lead, coach, and actively participate in daily problem solving in the pursuit of continuous improvement.   
    • Develop team high performance standards in the 7 dimensions.  
    • Build consensus and communicate effectively with direct reports, leadership team, and internal customers.  
    • Active leader and champion of process improvement through the IDEA program, 2second lean, PI, and other initiatives.  
  • Running the Business:   
    • Maintain a safe work environment by performing safety audits and addressing potential hazards that arise through problem solving.  
    • Daily touchpoints to reinforce desired behaviors at all levels in the department.  
    • Meet customer demand by executing schedule attainment by monitoring hourly and daily goals.   
    • Ensure product is built to meet quality specifications.   
    • Conduct Process audits to ensure process adherence.  
    • Participate in daily tier and shift change meeting, learn the plan, and ensure the execution of the plan given between shifts.  
    • Ensure proper communication is taking place, providing updates on shift performance to supervisors and stakeholders.    
    • Supporting other areas/departments as needed (ex: Final Assembly, Electronic Assembly, Metal and Paint, Crating, Inventory, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree may be considered, depending on prior experience). Degrees in Business, Psychology, Sociology, Engineering, or similar fields preferred.   
  • Supervision experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability required.     
  • Experience in a technical role preferred.  
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.   
  • Physical Requirements include the ability to:   
    • Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.   
    • Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.   
    • Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.   
    • Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.   
    • Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.   
    • Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.   
    • Identify wire and paint colors.   
    • Read fine print.  
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.   
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.   
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
