    Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.


    The responsibility of the Test Engineer will be to develop, document, and improve the test program for the products produced in the Transportation Business Unit.


    Development and Improvement of Test Procedures:

    • Develop, maintain, and update new test procedures. Get input from Design Engineering to identify new product specifications.
    • Develop, apply, and maintain test equipment/fixtures in support production test activity.
    • Maintain, review, and update existing test procedures.

    Prioritize, lead, and facilitate quality improvements efforts based on the testing outputs.


    Development and Improvement of Test Processes/Capabilities:


    • Oversee the component-level and system-level testing on all product assembled in the Transportation factory.
    • Oversee the process to archive and maintain records on products/systems shipped from Transportation factory.
    • Escalate production test issues to Design Engineering and own the process until a resolution is implemented.
    • Develop, apply, and maintain testing processes and standards for manufacture of ship level products.
    • Review and analyze existing product and processes utilizing manufacturing capability data.
    • Analyze and present the data information to support improvement activities as required.


    General Expectations:


    • Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of Daktronics products and installation process through corporate and Transportation Manufacturing Training.
    • Troubleshoot both product and process failures as necessary to meet customer ship dates.
    • Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.
    • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include:
      • safety glasses
      • safety shoes/boots
      • hearing protection
      • electrostatic discharge wear
      • others as determined necessary by Daktronics Safety Department.
    • Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and/or department expectations.


    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology preferred. Similar degrees like Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field may be considered.
    • C# and/or C/C++ programming experience preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Tools preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a time-sensitive environment.
    • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Ability to work on own and be a self-starter.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential. Fluent in English both written and verbal.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to:
      • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
      • Distinguish and identify wire colors.
      • Ability to work with odors. (structural adhesive, silicone)
    • Ability to travel via ground and air. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be verified.
    • Background check will be conducted.
    • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
