They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.


    Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these five markets. The Digital Billboard Plant located in Sioux Falls SD will support the billboard niche with the Commercial market. The plant will be responsible for the timely and quality production of digital billboards. This position will focus on process improvements in electronic assembly. Additional areas of focus include product improvements and safety.

    • Analyze electronic assembly processes working with electronic assembly leaders to optimize throughput.
    • Recommend process improvements to streamline product flow including material handling module production and be responsible for implementation of process improvements.
    • Identify design improvements that will enhance the manufacturability of products and increase overall quality and throughput.
    • Oversee implementation of incremental product improvements through the Engineering Change Order process suggestions and overall process improvement opportunities.
    • Research electronic assembly and material handling capabilities looking for continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Champion support and assist in administration of Lean Manufacturing initiatives and the 5S program.
    • Lead the production of prototype electronic assemblies and recommend improvements from a design from manufacturing standpoint.
    • Work effectively as a team member work with little supervision make suggestions for process and product improvements communicate effectively with team members.
    • Assist in the administration of the safety program help implement improvements enforce policies ensure compliance with OSHA and eliminate hazards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and/or department expectations.


    • Bachelor degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a comparable degree.
    • Broad knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes is preferred.
    • Microsoft Office computer software experience and abilities is required.  Experience with AutoCAD ProEngineer is preferred.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
    • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
    • Ability to interact with a variety of engineering manufacturing and customer service employees in a positive professional manner.
    • Ability to work on own and be a self-starter.
    • Physical requirements pertaining to the position include the ability to:
      •  lift and carry up to 50 pounds,
      • must be able to stand and/or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion,
      • ability to read small print with/without corrective lenses
      • distinguish and identify colors (wire, paint, etc.)
      • work with some odors associated with the manufacturing environment (paint, solder, etc.).  
      • Follow all safety guidelines in respective work areas. 
    • Ability to travel via ground and air. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked
    • Background check will be conducted.
    • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
