  • Responsibilities

    Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

     

    Position can be held in Brookings, SD or Sioux Falls, SD.

    • Provide and maintain high standards of service to customers via inbound calls, email, and online service request forms to ensure an effortless customer experience. Typical requests from customers are for technical phone support, ordering parts, and scheduling onsite service.
    • Learn and practice the soft skills of professionalism, being personable, using positive language, and actively listening to understand the issue or request at hand, and adapting your approach to the customer or situation.
    • While helping a customer with one topic, learn how to foresee what the next question or issue may be for them and address it.
    • Competently and timely record and manage customer requests using Customer Service software systems. Doing so keeps everyone informed and helps others pick up where you left off. You will work in a wide variety of systems simultaneously while you search for information or answers. You will also be typing in these systems as you are talking to customers.
    • Learn how the work flows and whom to contact to get answers for customers. This will require interaction with a variety of people in different types of roles, in different departments, or even outside of the company. You will need to develop relationships and be organized so that you can properly follow through.
    • Be flexible.
      • Every situation does not have a procedure or well defined answer. You’ll need to learn from your past experiences but be flexible with applying that learning as one solution for one problem may not solve the next one.
      • The work itself will change throughout the day based on customer requests. Also, processes or systems may change as we continually strived to improve the work.
      • There are Services Coordinator that focus on other products or customer types. You’ll need to be flexible to help them out when needed to ensure a good customer experience.
    • Learn about Daktronics products, services and practices (or at least know where to look to learn about them) to be able to understand what solutions you can offer customers.
    • Offer up ideas on how to improve the work and participate in finding and implementing solutions.
    • Work the scheduled hours which includes being available to periodically work overtime (typically seen as coming in early or staying late) to meet customer demand.
    • Participate in our on-call program and be available to help on evenings, weekends and some holidays. This typically happens one week out of every 10 weeks and you will receive additional compensation. This program applies to Live Events Service Coordinators only.
    • Practice teamwork through helping each other with questions or workload plus training and mentoring newer employees.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet customer and/or Daktronics expectations.

    Qualifications

     

    • A bachelor’s degree.
    • Calm under pressure; able to shift gears comfortably and manage multiple priorities.
    • Excellent phone presence and computer skills.
    • Problem solving abilities to help customers with solutions.
    • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
    • Background check will be conducted.
