Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

     

    Position located in Brookings or Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a full-time student. Preferred candidate should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

    When you start your career in a student position with Daktronics, you’ll put your classroom knowledge to the test in a corporate setting. You’ll provide technical support from an issue based, customer-focused perspective. You’ll troubleshoot for our customers including plans of action for onsite service, advise on part replacement, and provide operational assistance, amongst other diverse responsibilities. No two days will be alike! We’ll give you a lot of responsibility and expect you to deliver.

     

    Of course, we’ll provide training so that you will hit the ground running! You’ll be paired with a mentor who will guide and challenge you to find solutions to technical issues. You’ll gain an understanding of how our products work in the field, through both hands on, classroom, and real world experience, and you’ll guide customers to a satisfactory resolution of their questions.

    Qualifications

    Academic Requirements –

    • The ideal candidate will be a full-time student pursuing an Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or computer networking related degree, in their sophmore, junior, or senior year of school.
    • Only strong academic performers will be considered.
    • Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
    • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.

    Other Requirements –

    • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.

    • Experience with either phone support or troubleshooting electronics/networks a plus.

    • Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivation.

    • Background check may be conducted.

    • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
