    Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

     

    Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

     

    Daktronics enjoys a strong reputation for delivering quality reliable products supported by top-notch service. The Service Engineering Student is involved with service projects to include technical product reviews and corrective action implementation. Students assist with project paperwork such as project pricing estimates, scopes of work, and coordinating RMA parts. After demonstrated performance, Student may manage some projects on own. Students also travel to provide installation supervision and support trips.

     

    • Review of service requests and collection of product and project information.
    • Assist in developing strategic service project documents and project budgets.
    • Assist in development and writing of standard work instructions for service applications.
    • Generating and compiling repair information reports for products and projects.
    • Develop and maintain intimate understanding of Daktronics products and installation processes through corporate trainings and on-site installations.
    • Assist with developing and implementing standard work practices for service projects.
    • Work effectively as a team member work with little supervision help when and where needed make and implement suggestions for product and process improvement communicate effectively with sales customers and project team members.
    • Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer expectations.
    • On site project installation supervision or supervision assistance for projects.
    • Regular and reliable attendance.

    Qualifications

    Academic:

    • The ideal candidate will be a full-time student currently enrolled in accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Construction Management or Engineering or related degree in their sophmore, junior or senior year of school.
    • Only strong academic performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered.
    • Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
    • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.

    Other:

    • Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivation.
    • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
    • Ability to travel by air and ground. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Motor Vehicle records will be checked.
    • Daktronics experience and knowledge preferred.
    • Background check may be conducted.
