    Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

     

    Our engineering and manufacturing capabilities are the best in the industry. We take pride in developing new features for existing products and new products to meet our customer’s needs. This position will join a team of electrical, mechanical, structural, and software engineers.

     

    Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

     

    • Designing and documenting projects and products, developing concepts and ideas for designs and producing drawings and documents on Auto-CAD and/or Pro-E.
    • Supporting the development of components, products and technologies.
    • Developing innovative solutions to customers’ needs or manufacturing improvements.
    • Working effectively as a team member, work with little supervision, help when and where needed, make and implement suggestions for product and process improvement, communicate effectively with sales, customers and team members.
    • Setting up testing on new parts used in manufacturing.
    • Collaborate and provide updates on assigned projects.

     

    Qualifications

    • The ideal candidate must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering Technology and in their sophomore, junior or senior year of school.
    • Strong GPA preferred, or showing continued improvement in GPA. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
    • Dedication and desire for quality performance.
    • Ability to communicate well with others via written and verbal communication skills.
    • Planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
    • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
    • Background check may be conducted.
    • Ability to adapt to the Daktronics work environment
