  • Responsibilities

    Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

     

    As a feeder department the Electronic Assembly Department is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of electronic components to the final assembly departments.

     

    • Spend most of time on the floor with operators adhering to and making suggestions to improve standard work.
    • Be actively involved in the lean efforts and 5S implementation ensuring adherence to these efforts.
    • Effectively communicate work progress and constraints to following shift(s).
    • Plan for next contract set up on flow line.
    • Ensure safety during shift.
    • Provide effective leadership:
      • Keep supervisor informed of employee performance and attendance on a daily basis and assist supervisor with implementing employee growth plans.
      • Maintain a training schedule for employees with overall goal of 100% cross training on all flow line tasks.
      • Foster teamwork and self-improvement through effective communication with employees within the flow line, between the shifts, and the department as a whole.
      • Understand and communicate the relationship between quality work, customer service, and customer satisfaction.
      • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information associated with Daktronics responsibilities.
    • Work with supervisor and process engineers/designers to improve procedures and processes to reduce scrap and rework.
    • Evaluate and recommend appropriate new quality process/production techniques.
    • Assist in evaluating quality issues discovered during production.
    • Train employees and develop training aids to improve processes quality and time cycle.
    • Be at work on time and maintain good attendance. Be able to work overtime as needed.
    • Perform other duties as required.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Ability to train and motivate employees and ability to demonstrate leadership.
    • Computer skills required.  Glovia and Excel experience preferred.
    • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to:
      • Lift and carry up to 45 pounds
      • Distinguish and identify wire colors.
      • Ability to work with odors (structural adhesive silicon). 
    • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
    • Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked. 
    • Background investigation will be conducted.
