    A Tennessee based sales position will provide an in state presence to better deliver our innovative Daktronics solutions. This position may be responsible to represent Daktronics to our Reseller (sign companies/end users) and High School Park and Recreation (focusing on video and sound projects) markets.


    Locations that are being considered include Murfreesboro, Nashville, or Chattanooga, Tennessee.


    Work with Managers (Sales Territory and Market) to develop and successfully execute a plan for selling products and services at acceptable order volume with acceptable profit margin into Tennessee, northern Alabama, and northwest Georgia. 

    • Business & Community – through a Reseller/sign company channel
      • Will call on sign companies to promote Daktronics products/services view in person meetings, product demonstrations, webinars, electronic communication
      • Will effectively leverage demo trailer to secure orders.
    • Sports – High School Park and Recreation
      • Primary focus will be on video and sound opportunities to schools at the secondary, middle and elementary level, to park and recreation facilities and to junior and community colleges
      • Will help in developing winning proposals/sales propositions  
      • Will generate larger orders through financing options such as Daktronics Sports Marketing.
      • Will create business through consultative selling by showing customers that they need our products.
      • Will demonstrate sound and video equipment to secure orders.
    • Product and Services
      • Will be the Daktronics expert consultant with an in depth understanding of Daktronics products capabilities, features, functions and operation to best meet the customer’s needs. Key product knowledge will include electronic scoreboards, scoring systems, electronic message centers, numeric digit displays, video displays, Allsport and Venus control systems and sound systems
      • Continuously learn about Daktronics products by participating in internal product and sales training, and reviewing sales literature
    • Sales Process
      • Will develop an effective sales activity pipeline of sufficient cold calls, referrals, lead qualification, sustainable relationships, acceptable order volume and product replacement opportunities. 
      • Proactively follow up on new leads and customers. Promptly follow up on marketing campaign or trade show leads. Qualify leads to determine project viability.
      • Will conduct demonstration of Daktronics products at site visits, trade shows and meetings. 
      • Will represent Daktronics at various school, government, sign association and other professional meetings
    • Become knowledgeable and follow Daktronics policies, processes and procedures.  
    • Work effectively as a team member. Work with limited daily supervision.


    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, technical area or similar. 
    • Prefer experience with direct sales, channel sales, and/or Daktronics experience.  Previous selling, technical sales or other similar experience preferred.
    • Reasonable knowledge of Daktronics product line, demonstrated ability to learn technical product quickly or technical aptitude. 
    • Communication skills including good verbal and written skills, ability to develop and present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services and negotiate contracts favorable to Daktronics.   Fluent in written and verbal English. 
    • Negotiation Skills
      • Experience selling product values and features. Must demonstrate ability to successfully negotiate price without being the lowest price supplier
      • Understand basics of proposal & sales agreement language to negotiate/finalize agreements in conjunction with Daktronics Legal Group
    • Motivated and a team player. Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement. Goal oriented with proven leadership capability. 
    • Work schedule may include evenings and weekends for presentations, trade shows and meetings.  
    • Travel including driving and/or air required. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.  Travel the entire state of Tennessee, northern Alabama and northwest Georgia. Expectation is that this position will be on the road 30-50% of time.
    • Successful candidate must either reside or be willing to reside within Tennessee: Chattanooga, Knoxville or Nashville metro areas. Prefer ability to work from a home office setup when not travelling.
    • Physically able to connect demo trailer to vehicle. 
    • Computer skills to best utilize Sales Force, Microsoft Office, web navigation and internal electronic systems.  
    • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment. 
    • Background check will be conducted.  Background must acceptable to customers/schools and Daktronics.
