    Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

     

    Daktronics Sports Marketing (DSM) provides specialized and unique marketing services to colleges, universities, high schools, stadiums and arenas, nationwide. See Daktronics Sports Marketing for more info. This position requires the ability to work both independently and with the integrated manufacturing, design and sales teams.

     

    Primary geography focus includes eastern Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Preferred location is Houston, Texas.

      

    • Responsible for the procurement and development of DSM projects, including, but not limited to:
      • Property venue evaluation and discovery
      • Sponsorship packaging and pricing
      • Implementation and professional presentation of marketing plan
      • Selling of sponsorships
      • Negotiation of legal contracts and associated terms and conditions
      • Closing and assisting with booking of jobs
    • Develop and represent single-sport or venue sports marketing jobs projects within the region, including, but not limited to High School Park and Recreation (HSPR) and small college/junior college market.
    • Assist with and/or develop new opportunities within other regions.
    • Work effectively as a team member especially with HSPR/Live Events (LE) sales representatives to provide funding options to secure or upsell orders. Work with limited daily supervision.
    • Will need to be available for special events that will include evenings and weekends.
    • Will travel via ground or air transport primarily within the region and occasionally outside of the region for training and assisting other regions.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business and/or Advertising Marketing.
    • Strong knowledge of sales strategies, client relations, and presentation methodologies.
    • Expertise and proven performance with computer technology and associated applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products, Adobe Design products, database programs, email applications and web/internet.
    • Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to develop and present winning presentation of Daktronics services and products and negotiate contracts favorable to Daktronics.
    • Successful candidate must either reside or be willing to reside within the geography. The preferred location is Houston, Texas. Preference is to work from the Daktronics Houston office when not traveling.
    • Travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet and maintain a qualified driver status according to the Daktronics motor vehicle policy. Motor Vehicle Record will be checked. Travel will include air travel and driving. Overnight travel is approximately 15%.
    • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and to complete work/DSM jobs in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to solve problems and seek help as needed.
    • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
    • Background check will be conducted.
