Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues. 


The Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports the sales process by assisting and providing information to sales representatives and sign companies to secure orders.  The Regulatory Affairs Specialist supports the industry by reaching out to jurisdictions regarding code changes, permit expediting and/or presenting information.


The position can be located in Brookings, SD or Sioux Falls, SD.


Areas of focus include:

  • Manage communication and inquiries from sales representatives and engineers, sign companies, and municipal officials.
  • Conduct municipal code checks to determine viable locations and options for signage.
  • Respond timely to customer requests for brightness information.
  • Draft manufacturer certification letters.
  • Monitor news articles for leads on jurisdictions that may be updating their sign code; contact officials to offer assistance and follow up as needed.
  • Maintain a comparison log of signage ordinance language and trends across the country.


  • Bachelor’s degree – prefer paralegal, political science, pre-law or similar.
  • Experience in the legal field is preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of Daktronics products is preferred. Will need to relate our products capabilities to questions regarding brightness and/or sign operations.
  • Organizational skills needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people and regulators.  Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Computer skills to best utilize Sales Force, Microsoft Office, web navigation and internal electronic systems.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status.
  • Background check will be conducted.
