We are currently seeking a Database/ETL Developer to join our team. The Database/ETL Developer will be responsible for analysis through implementation of highly efficient, highly scalable and reusable ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes. This person is instrumental in aligning database development with ETL solutions ensuring reliability in movement of data between Enterprise Systems and the Business Intelligence (Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store) data sources. Developer is required to perform daily and project functions with a focus on meeting the business objectives on time within a rapidly changing work environment.


Strategic Focus

  • Partner with the enterprise data architect, data solutions architect and the BI analytics team:
      • On long-term strategic goals for data management including Master Data Management, Data Warehouse and ETL development to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
      • To evaluate and design architectural strategies for data collection, data staging, data movement, data quality and archiving.
      • To define a strategy for improving the quality of data integrated into BI applications (Data Warehouse, Data Marts, Cubes, Tabular Models)
  • Recommend strategy for documenting the data lineage and data transformations using metadata models, BEAM models, data models and data flow diagrams.


Operational Management                                                                                                                 

  • Work closely with the business and data analysts and the data program personnel to understand business requirements, providing knowledge of data warehouse and ETL solutions, ensuring delivery of business needs in a timely cost-effective manner.
  • Create and maintain accurate data models for data environments.
  • Perform up front profiling and source-target mappings that comprehensively document data lineage, data flow and transformation solution design. The ETL database developer will offer recommendations for data cleansing processes to improve consistency, completeness and accuracy of data to be loaded into the warehouse.
  • Develop high performance ETL applications to cleanse and transform enterprise data using SQL Server 2012 through 2016. Modify existing ETL packages to support ongoing system and business changes.
  • Architect and Design Master Data Management Solutions.
  • Perform code reviews, analyze execution plans, and re-factor inefficient code.
  • Follow data standards and architectural patterns, resolve data issues and complete unit testing and system documentation for ETL processes.
  • Design and develop with a focus on optimizing for joint development, decoupled and testable code, low levels of complexity and highly readable code for maintainability.
  • Work in an Agile environment where you are always collaborating with team mates and looking for process improvements.




  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering. Require 3-5 years’ experience in database development with some leadership in database architecture.
  • Ability to pass Microsoft query and skills tests.
  • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices in additional to project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Master Data Management and Data Warehousing methodologies and concepts, including and not limited to: star schemas, ETL processes, dimensional modeling and data modeling techniques. Ability to use this knowledge to collaborate with the business, ask them the right questions so that the data solutions presented is appropriate.
  • Solid experience in query performance analysis, and issue detection.
  • High proficiency in TSQL and database object development (stored procedures, views, functions) and exposure to C# and at least one scripting language.
  • Ability to become proficient in MDX programming language and analysis services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and an understanding of the principles of Lean Software Development is desired
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in development on Microsoft SQL Server (2012-2016) platform and Microsoft SQL Server Technologies including MDS (Master Data Services), SSAS (Analysis Services), SSIS (Integration Services).
  • Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Be a self-starter who has the ability to prioritize and execute.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
