Responsibilities

 

Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

 

Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a full-time student. Preferred candidate should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer. 

  • Prototype and verify new designs.
  • Test and troubleshoot existing designs.
  • Design and implement test fixtures and procedures.
  • Documentation to support designs, fixtures and procedures.
  • Computer programming to include writing in code for software and/or hardware design, test and verification.
  • Perform customer service functions.
  • Work with little supervision.  Complete quality work in a timely manner. Communicate effectively.  Work as an effective team member.
  • Be at work on time and maintain good attendance.  Follow Company guidelines and policies.
  • Perform other projects and duties as needed to meet customer expectations.

 

Qualifications

 

Academic Requirements –

  • The preferred candidate will be a full-time student currently enrolled in accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering
  • The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore or junior year of school
  • Only strong academic performers will be considered
  • Must maintain an acceptable GPA
  • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.

 Other Requirements –

  • Programming knowledge in "C", "C++", and VHDL preferred but not required.
  • Previous Daktronics Experience, knowledge of Daktronics products and manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Dedication and desire for quality performance.
  • Ability to communicate well with others via written and verbal communication skills.
  • Planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivation.
  • Background check may be conducted.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
